The cardinal principles of the rule of law and the independence of the Judiciary are vital elements of Hong Kong's legal system and are fundamental to Hong Kong's success.

As the institution of government exercising judicial power, the Judiciary is an institution that belongs to the community and serves the community. The Judiciary Website contains readily accessible information and will enable members of the public to understand the work of the Judiciary. Since its launch in December 1997, its contents have been expanding continuously. We will continue to strive to make improvements to the website so as to facilitate access to its contents by the public.
